First off let me say, I do own the Titan Fitness H-PND(Reverse Hyper) and I have never used another one other than this model, so I really didn’t know what to expect other than what I’ve seen in pictures from other brands. The Titan Fitness H-PND off the bat looks very similar to what Rogue Fitness has, but half the price and free shipping.
To be honest how would you not take a shot and get the Titan Fitness H-PND especially when the specifications between the two match up very closely.
Initially I would have gone with the Rogue Fitness Reverse Hyper do to the fact that they are an American Company and I have bought many products from them in the past including my Monster Lite Squat Stand. I have had nothing short of a great experience with them in terms of the buying process.
But, I thought to myself if I can get almost the identical product for half the price I would be a fool to not take advantage of this opportunity. This also allowed me to take the extra money I saved on this purchase and invest in more equipment for my home gym.
So, when I received my order it came by freight; which is basically a big boy truck and everything was on a pallet, well packaged, and undamaged.
The reason I say this, is because I have heard many reviews of people saying they got their stuff and it was all jacked-up and damaged, but not mine. I was very impressed with the delivery time as well. It came in less than a week.
The only issue was that it didn’t come with directions to put it together. At first, I was super frustrated but then I called Titan Fitness and actually got through to speak with a customer service person that immediately emailed the directions. WOW! This was another thing I heard that was a negative about Titan Fitness; was that they are impossible to get in touch with, but not for me.
Maybe I was just lucky or maybe Titan Fitness has listened to what many of their past customers have had to say and made great improvements in quality of their products and customer relations. I couldn’t be happier with my investment and plan to buy many other products from them in the future for my home gym.
What Is a Reverse Hyper?
A short history on the reverse hyper is that it was first introduced by Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell do to back injuries that he sustained from training. Simmons came up with this to get him back in the game and avoid the blade.
Louie Simmons has promoted and put his stamp of approval on the reverse hyper for over a decade. At Westside Barbell they have several awesome reverse hypers that offer many advanced features that if you have an open budget and want the best-of-the-best; support them because you know that you’re getting what you pay for.
To be clear you do not need a reverse hyper, but it could be a ‘GAME CHANGER’ when it comes to strength training and rehabilitation.
See, it’s not so much as to what it does, but more how it does what it does.
A reverse hyper not only strengthens the posterior chain(low-back, hips, glutes, and hamstrings) it decompresses the spine and stretches the lats to help build muscle while also providing recovery.
Benefits Of a Reverse Hyper
You can use the reverse hyper with lighter weights and higher reps for more of a recovery effect or go with a heavier load for strengthening muscle.
Typically, 50% of your squat for strengthening and half of that for rehabilitation. The reverse hyper can be used everyday if needed and can really help reduce back tightness and discomfort from heavy squats and deadlifts.
Many chiropractors and therapists use reverse hypers in their clinical settings because it has proven to help many individuals recover from back issues and improve their clients quality of life.
The biggest benefit of the reverse hyper is that it can greatly improve your back health and strengthen your posterior chain from a different angle typically not achieved through general strength training.
The reverse hyper actually gets spinal fluid and blood flow into areas in the back that usually are harder to reach.
The Titan Fitness H-PND does exactly this; provides great stimulation to ensure your back will hold up to heavy lifting and recovered enough to handle general day-to-day tasks while staying pain-free.
This is by far one of the best investments I have made for my home gym for sure.
Don’t hesitate, if you’ve had this on your wish list for a while because you know the benefits and want a stronger and healthier back, GO FOR IT, you will not regret it.
Exercises with the Reverse Hyper
The most common exercise is your basic swing that really gets the lower back and glutes fired-up. You can also do many other variations to allow for continual progress and challenge:
- Static Holds
- Strict(no momentum)
- Banded(use resistance bands to ensure a squeeze at the top)
- Leg Curls
- Leg Extensions
I got my Titan Fitness H-PND and have only done the standard swing, but I have heard of many others getting more out of their reverse hyper with some of these exercises mentioned above.
Whether or not versatility is important to you, this machines benefits sealed the deal for me.
I have used the reverse hyper for many workouts and can honestly say that after squats or deadlifts; when you do the reverse hyper you truly feel restored and less sore the next day.
Build a Stronger and Healthy Back!
There is no better machine that will build and aid in recovery of your back allowing for a greater chance to achieve your fitness goals.
There is nothing quite like a reverse hyper when it comes to the way it can build muscle to protect the spine, alleviate stiffness, and prevent injury in the lower-back so you can be at your best when you need to be.
The reverse hyper is not going to give you super powers, but it will surely help you get to your fitness goals a lot safer and faster if used properly.
I can only give you my point of view, because I don’t personally know anyone who has used the reverse hyper and said it was no good. I have had minor back issues before and can honestly tell you that this reverse hyper makes my back happy.
